I was ecstatic to track down an affordable copy of Creative Ink Drawing by the late Paul Hogarth (1917-2001), one of the major founding figures of reportage illustration. When I received the tattered volume, I realized it was a library copy. On the back, where the library card was kept was a pencil mark that read “Discard.”
